Last week we went shopping in our local supermarket. Whilst there is still more to be done, we were pleasantly surprised that our local supermarket swapped the single use small plastic bags that you buy individual fruit and vegetables in, for brown paper bags.
This is going to have such an impact on the environment because how many tonnes of plastic waste will be reduced from this one change? Personally, I have never understood why in the UK our food shop isn’t bagged into paper bags. That aside, hopefully other supermarkets and shops will take heed from this. Fingers crossed.
